3-Day Nature Itinerary in Lonavla in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Bhaja Caves and Lohagad Fort

    In the morning, visit the Bhaja Caves - ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves that date back to the 2nd century BC. Explore the intricate carvings and beautiful sculptures. In the afternoon, head to Lohagad Fort - a historic fort that was used by the Maratha empire. Take in the stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely walk in the nearby Bhushi Dam which is a popular picnic spot.

  2. Day 2: Rajmachi Point and Karla Caves
    20 minutes (8.1 km) from Lonavla

    Start the day early by driving to Rajmachi Point to witness the sunrise amidst picturesque views of the Sahyadri mountains. In the afternoon, visit the Karla Caves - a complex of ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves known for their intricate carvings and elaborate chaitya halls.
