Family-Friendly 5-Day Itinerary in Uttarakhand, June 2023

  1. Day 1: Nainital
    45 minutes (18.5 km) from Pantnagar Airport

    In the morning, take a relaxing boat ride on the Naini Lake and absorb the beautiful scenery. In the afternoon, visit the Governor's House which is a perfect blend of British and Indian architecture. End your day with a visit to the Naina Devi Temple, a spiritual and serene place.

  2. Day 2: Jim Corbett National Park
    2 hours 40 minutes (93 km) from Nainital

    Start your morning with a jeep safari in the Corbett National Park and spot some of the endangered species like Royal Bengal Tiger, Asiatic Elephant and many more. Spend your afternoon exploring the Corbett Museum which is a must-visit attraction. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire with wildlife stories.

  3. Day 3: Mussoorie
    5 hours 15 minutes (195 km) from Jim Corbett National Park

    In the morning, take a cable car ride to Gun Hill and enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Spend your afternoon in the Company Garden which has beautiful flower beds, an artificial waterfall, and a small lake. Visit the iconic Kempty Falls in the evening and take a dip in the refreshing water.

  4. Day 4: Rishikesh
    3 hours 20 minutes (120 km) from Mussoorie

    Begin your day with an early morning yoga session by the Ganges which is a rejuvenating experience. Head to the Beatles Ashram which is an abandoned ashram and adorned with graffiti and murals. In the evening, witness the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat which is a spiritual and enchanting sight.

  5. Day 5: Dehradun
    1 hour 15 minutes (32 km) from Rishikesh

    Visit the Tapkeshwar Temple which is known for its natural cave and Shiva linga. Explore the Robber's cave which is a fascinating place with a river flowing through a cave. Spend your evening at Rajaji National Park which is home to various species of flora and fauna.

Recommendations

If you have time, you can take a side trip to Haridwar which is a spiritual place and famous for Ganga Aarti. You can also experience white water rafting in Rishikesh, which is an adventurous activity. Make sure to sample the local cuisine and shop for souvenirs in the local markets.
