3-Day Itinerary for Vizag in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Rushikonda Beach
    30 minutes (14.2 km) from Vizag Airport

    In the morning, enjoy some beach activities such as surfing and swimming. After lunch, visit the Kailasagiri Hill Park, which offers an excellent view of the city. In the evening, head to the Rishikonda Beach to watch the sunset and enjoy dinner at one of the beachside restaurants.

  2. Day 2: Simhachalam Temple
    35 minutes (17.6 km) from Rushikonda Beach

    In the morning, visit the Simhachalam Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. After lunch, head to the Visakha Museum, which showcases the history and culture of the region. In the evening, head to the Yarada Beach, which is known for its serene beauty.

  3. Day 3: Araku Valley
    3 hours (116 km) from Vizag Airport

    In the morning, take a scenic train ride to the Araku Valley. The train passes through tunnels, bridges, and waterfalls, providing excellent views of the Eastern Ghats. After lunch in Araku, visit the Borra Caves, which are known for their limestone formations. In the evening, head back to Vizag.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can visit the Submarine Museum, which displays a decommissioned submarine. You can also take a boat ride to the Dolphin's Nose, a natural rock formation that resembles a dolphin's nose. For a side trip, you can visit the nearby city of Bheemunipatnam, which has a historic Dutch cemetery and a 17th-century fort.
