2-Day Cultural Immersion Itinerary in Kochi for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Fort Kochi
    20 minutes (4.5 km) from Kochi International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Dutch Palace, also known as Mattancherry Palace, to explore the traditional Kerala architecture and to see the murals depicting Hindu temple art. Afternoon, head to the Paradesi Synagogue, the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations. There, you can admire the Belgian chandeliers, the hand-painted Chinese tiles, and the oriental rugs. Lastly, take a stroll through Jew Town to experience the fusion of Jewish and Kerala culture. In the evening, head to the Fort Kochi Beach to watch the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Backwaters
    1 hour 10 minutes (22 km) from Fort Kochi

    Start your day with a backwater cruise from Alleppey to Kumarakom. Get an experience of the lush green paddy fields, coconut groves, and local villages. Afternoon, visit the St. Mary's Church in Champakulam, known for its beautiful murals and ancient architecture. In the evening, enjoy a Kathakali performance, a traditional dance form of Kerala, at the Kerala Kathakali Centre.
