4-Day Itinerary for Delhi, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradun in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Delhi
    Indira Gandhi International Airport to Red Fort
    Time and Distance: 40 minutes (12.9 miles)

    In the morning, visit the historic Red Fort, which served as the main residence of the Mughal Emperors. Spend the afternoon at Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world. In the evening, take a stroll at India Gate, a war memorial and popular hangout spot.

  2. Day 2: Rishikesh
    Delhi to Rishikesh

    Start the day with yoga and meditation at Parmarth Niketan Ashram. In the afternoon, visit Lakshman Jhula, a suspension bridge over the Ganges River that holds great spiritual significance. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Triveni Ghat, where devotees light candles and sing hymns in praise of the river goddess.

  3. Day 3: Haridwar

    Visit Har Ki Pauri, a ghat on the Ganges River that is considered one of the holiest places for Hindus. Take a cable car ride to the top of Mansa Devi Temple, dedicated to the goddess of wishes. End the day with a visit to Maya Devi Temple, one of the oldest temples in Haridwar.

  4. Day 4: Dehradun
    Haridwar to Dehradun

    Start the day with a visit to the Mindrolling Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist centers in India. In the afternoon, head to the Robber's Cave, a natural cave formation that features a river running through it. End the day with a visit to Tapkeshwar Temple, a cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
