7-Day Adventurous Uttarakhand Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Rishikesh
    17km (30 minutes) from Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun

    Start your adventure with a morning of white water rafting on the Ganges River. After lunch, visit the famous Laxman Jhula and explore some of the ancient temples in the area. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Parmarth Niketan Ashram.

  2. Day 2: Auli
    185km (7 hours) from Rishikesh

    Drive to Auli, a picturesque hill station known for skiing and trekking. In the morning, take a cable car ride to Auli Lake and enjoy the beautiful views. In the afternoon, go on a trek to Gurso Bugyal and enjoy some of the most stunning views of the Himalayas. In the evening, relax at your hotel and enjoy a bonfire.

  3. Day 3: Joshimath
    13km (30 minutes) from Auli

    Drive to Joshimath, a popular pilgrimage site and the winter home of Lord Badri, one of the four Hindu shrines. Take a cable car ride to Auli and enjoy the beautiful views. In the afternoon, visit the Kalpavriksha and Narsingh Temple. In the evening, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

  4. Day 4: Kedarnath
    235km (10 hours) from Joshimath

    Start early and drive to Gaurikund. From there, trek to Kedarnath, one of the most sacred Hindu shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Himalayas along the way. In the evening, attend the Kedarnath Aarti and spend the night at a guesthouse.

  5. Day 5: Nainital
    360km (9 hours) from Kedarnath

    Drive to Nainital, a charming hill station surrounded by beautiful lakes and hills. In the morning, take a boat ride on Naini Lake and visit the Naina Devi Temple. In the afternoon, visit the Snow View Point and Tiffin Top for stunning views of the Himalayas. In the evening, enjoy a walk along the Mall Road and indulge in some local shopping.

  6. Day 6: Jim Corbett National Park
    66km (2 hours) from Nainital

    Drive to Jim Corbett National Park, one of the oldest national parks in India. Enjoy a morning safari to spot tigers, leopards, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, visit the Garjiya Devi Temple and Corbett Museum. In the evening, relax at your hotel or enjoy a bonfire.

  7. Day 7: Haridwar
    210km (5 hours) from Jim Corbett National Park

    Drive to Haridwar, one of the seven holiest places in Hinduism. Take a dip in the holy waters of the Ganges at Har Ki Pauri Ghat and attend the evening Ganga Aarti ceremony. In the afternoon, visit the Daksheswara Mahadev Temple and Mansa Devi Temple. In the evening, take a stroll along the banks of the Ganges and enjoy some local street food.

Recommendations

If you are interested in further adventure, consider going on a trek to Valley of Flowers National Park or Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. You can also go on a camping trip in the scenic hills of Kumaon or enjoy some water sports at Tehri Lake. Don't forget to pack comfortable shoes, warm clothes, and plenty of sunscreen for your adventure.
