5-Day Relaxing Itinerary for Udaipur and Jodhpur in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Udaipur
    25 minutes (10.5 miles) from Maharana Pratap Airport

    In the morning, visit the City Palace, a stunning architectural marvel built during the Mewar dynasty. In the afternoon, head to the serene Saheliyon Ki Bari, a beautiful garden adorned with fountains and marble elephants. In the evening, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the palace and hills around.

  2. Day 2: Udaipur
    15 minutes (3.5 miles) from Day 1 location

    In the morning, visit the Jagdish temple, a 17th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In the afternoon, head to Fateh Sagar Lake, a scenic spot for a picnic or a relaxing boat ride. In the evening, visit Bagore ki Haveli, a restored royal mansion that now houses a museum showcasing traditional Rajasthani culture and artefacts.

  3. Day 3: Jodhpur
    4 hours (200 miles) from Day 2 location

    In the morning, take a guided tour of the Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest forts in India offering stunning panoramic views of the Blue City. In the afternoon, visit Jaswant Thada, a royal cenotaph made of marble that houses portraits of Jodhpur's rulers. In the evening, explore the bustling Sardar Market, where you can buy souvenirs and try local street food.

  4. Day 4: Jodhpur
    20 minutes (4.4 miles) from Day 3 location

    In the morning, visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum, a magnificent palace-turned-museum showcasing the history and culture of Jodhpur. In the afternoon, head to the Mandore Gardens, an erstwhile capital of Marwar known for its lush greenery and stunning architecture. In the evening, relax at one of the rooftop restaurants in the Blue City, enjoying the stunning view of the cityscape.

  5. Day 5: Departure
    15 minutes (3.5 miles) from Day 4 location

    Depart from Jodhpur and head to the airport to catch your flight back home.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site near Udaipur, or taking a desert safari in Jaisalmer. To maximize your fun, make sure to try some of the local delicacies like Dal Bati Churma, Gatte ki Sabzi and Mirchi Bada. Don't forget to bargain while shopping at the local markets. Finally, carry comfortable walking shoes and light clothing as it can get hot during the day in July.
