4-Day Shoestring Budget Itinerary for Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Panaji
    30 minutes (13 km) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, visit the historic Latin Quarter of Fontainhas, and admire the colorful Portuguese-style houses. In the afternoon, head to the vibrant Panaji Market and indulge in street food. In the evening, walk along the Mandovi River and enjoy a sunset view of the famous Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary.

  2. Day 2: Old Goa
    30 minutes (17 km) from Panaji

    In the morning, explore the majestic Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier. In the afternoon, visit the Se Cathedral, one of the largest churches in Asia, and marvel at its Portuguese-Gothic architecture. In the evening, take a stroll through the picturesque ruins of the Church of St. Augustine.

  3. Day 3: Anjuna Beach
    1 hour 10 minutes (30 km) from Old Goa

    In the morning, go bargain hunting at the Wednesday Anjuna Flea Market, where you can find everything from clothes to jewelry and souvenirs. In the afternoon, relax on the golden sands of Anjuna Beach and take a dip in the Arabian Sea. In the evening, party at one of the beach shacks and groove to the music.

  4. Day 4: Dudhsagar Waterfalls
    2 hours 30 minutes (75 km) from Anjuna Beach

    In the morning, take a scenic train ride to the majestic Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. In the afternoon, trek to the bottom of the falls and take a refreshing swim in the natural pool. In the evening, return to Goa and savor some of the best seafood in India at one of the beachfront restaurants.

Apart from the above itinerary, you can also visit the famous Calangute Beach, explore the Aguada Fort, and take a crocodile and bird-watching tour in the Cumbarjua Canal. You can also take a side trip to the neighboring state of Karnataka and visit the majestic Jog Falls. To maximize your fun, rent a bike or scooter and explore the scenic countryside of Goa. Finally, don't forget to try the local drink, feni, made from cashew or toddy palm.
