2-Day Nature Itinerary in Goa for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary
    1-hour drive (25 miles) from Dabolim Airport

    Morning: Start your nature tour with a visit to Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, which opens at 9:00 AM. Take a guided walk through the forest and spot various species of deer, peafowl, and langurs. You may also see some reptiles, such as pythons and Indian cobras.
    Afternoon: Enjoy a picnic lunch at the sanctuary's picturesque waterfall or grab a snack at the canteen. After lunch, head to the botanical garden to see a variety of plants, including medicinal herbs and exotic orchids.
    Evening: Witness a cultural program performed by local artists that showcases Goa's traditional dance and music. The program starts at 5:00 PM and lasts for an hour.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Falls
    2-hour drive (45 miles) from Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary

    Morning: Depart early to reach Dudhsagar Falls, which open at 7:30 AM. These magnificent falls are located within the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and are known for their milky white water. Take a dip in the refreshing water or go for a short hike in the surrounding forest.
    Afternoon: Have lunch at one of the nearby restaurants that serve fresh seafood and Goan delicacies. After lunch, visit the Tambdi Surla Mahadev Temple, a 12th-century temple located in the middle of a forest that's dedicated to Lord Shiva.
    Evening: End your day with a visit to the Spice Plantation, which is about a 30-minute drive from the temple. Take a guided tour of the plantation and learn about the different spices grown in Goa. The tour ends with a delicious dinner that features local cuisine.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, located on the western tip of Chorao Island. Take a boat ride through the mangrove forest and spot different species of birds, including kingfishers, egrets, and herons.
For a side trip, head to the beaches of South Goa, such as Palolem and Agonda. These beaches are known for their pristine waters and offer various water sports activities.
