Three Days Nature Itinerary in Yercurd, July 2023

  1. Day 1: Armenia Alphabet Monument
    20 minutes (13.5 miles) from Yercurd city centre

    In the morning, visit the Armenia Alphabet Monument, a beautiful open-air park showcasing the Armenian script. Walk around the park and learn about the history and meaning of each letter. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park with scenic views of the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, visit the beautiful Lake Sevan and take a boat tour on the tranquil waters. In the evening, relax and enjoy the sunset over the lake while sampling fresh local fish at one of the lakeside restaurants.

  2. Day 2: Dilijan National Park
    1 hour 20 minutes (59.6 miles) from Lake Sevan

    Start your day with a hike in Dilijan National Park, a densely forested area with stunning nature trails. Be sure to take the stunning Sharambeyan street, a restored 19th-century street lined with small cafes and souvenir shops. In the afternoon, visit Parz Lake, a picturesque lake surrounded by mountains. Take a boat ride, rent a bicycle or quad bike to explore the area. In the evening, dine at one of Dilijan's upscale restaurants and enjoy the local cuisine.

  3. Day 3: Jermuk Waterfall & Hot Springs
    1 hour 50 minutes (75.5 miles) from Dilijan National Park

    Begin your day with a visit to the stunning Jermuk Waterfall, the largest waterfall in Armenia. Continue your journey to Jermuk, a small spa town famous for its hot springs. Spend the afternoon relaxing in one of the many luxury spas and pools. In the evening, take a stroll around the town and enjoy a traditional Armenian dinner at one of the local restaurants.

Recommendations

If you have time, visit the Noravank Monastery, a 13th-century Armenian monastery located 1 hour 40 minutes (75.9 miles) from Jermuk. The monastery is situated in a beautiful gorge, and the stunning red rocks surrounding it make for an unforgettable sight. Additionally, consider visiting the Tatev Monastery, a 9th-century Armenian monastery, which can be reached via the world's longest reversible cable car. Finally, don't forget to try the delicious Armenian wine and brandy while you're here!
