If you have more time, consider taking a day trip to the ancient town of Quba (2.5 hours from Baku) and take in the beautiful Caucasus mountains. If you have less time, omit Absheron Peninsula from your itinerary.
Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) is the main international airport in Baku located 25km northeast of the city centre. The airport is connected to the city by bus, taxi, and the Baku Metro.
