6-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Vaishno Devi, Himachal and Haridwar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Vaishno Devi
    2 hours 30 minutes (40.5 km) from Jammu Airport

    Begin your day with a morning trek to Vaishno Devi, popularly known as Mata Rani, Vaishnavi and Trikuta, nestled in the Himalayas. The trek is around 12 km long, and it takes around 4-5 hours. In the afternoon, visit the Bhairavnath Temple, situated a few km from the Vaishno Devi Shrine. In the evening, relax at your hotel and indulge in some local delicacies.

  2. Day 2: McLeod Ganj, Himachal Pradesh
    5 hours 30 minutes (200 km) from Vaishno Devi

    Start your day with a visit to the Dalai Lama Temple Complex, a beautiful Buddhist temple situated in the heart of McLeod Ganj. In the afternoon, explore the Bhagsu Nag Temple and Bhagsu Waterfall, situated a few km away. In the evening, stroll around the local markets, indulge in some local food and shop for souvenirs.

  3. Day 3: Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh

In the afternoon, visit the Chandi Devi Temple, a popular temple dedicated to Goddess Chandi Devi. In the evening, attend the evening Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ashram.

  5. Day 5: Rishikesh, Uttarakhand
    30 minutes (20 km) from Haridwar

    Start your day with a visit to the Beatles Ashram, an abandoned ashram where the Beatles stayed in the late 1960s. In the afternoon, explore the Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, two suspension bridges over the Ganges. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat, a popular ghat in Rishikesh.

  6. Day 6: Haridwar
    30 minutes (20 km) from Rishikesh

    On your last day, visit the Mansa Devi Temple, a popular temple dedicated to Goddess Mansa Devi. In the afternoon, visit the Daksheswara Mahadev Temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the evening, stroll around the local markets and indulge in some local food.
