3-Day Itinerary for Thailand in September 2023

  1. Day 1: Wat Phra Kaew and The Grand Palace
    30 minutes (9.2 km) from Suvarnabhumi Airport

    In the morning, explore one of the most visited attractions in Bangkok, Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. This temple is located within the Grand Palace complex, which is a must-visit attraction itself. In the afternoon, head over to the National Museum of Bangkok to learn more about Thai history and culture. In the evening, walk around Chinatown and try some of the street food.

  2. Day 2: Ayutthaya Historical Park
    1 hour 30 minutes (80.6 km) from Bangkok

    In the morning, take a day trip to Ayutthaya Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you'll find ancient ruins and temples that date back to the 14th century. In the afternoon, visit the Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, which is also located in Ayutthaya. In the evening, return to Bangkok and visit the Asiatique night market for some shopping and entertainment.

  3. Day 3: Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and Kanchanaburi
    2 hours 30 minutes (108 km) from Bangkok

    In the morning, take a trip to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, where you can see locals selling and buying goods on boats. In the afternoon, visit the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery and the nearby Bridge over the River Kwai, both of which are important historical landmarks. In the evening, return to Bangkok and visit the Siam Paragon shopping mall for some last-minute shopping.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Chatuchak Weekend Market, the Jim Thompson House, and Wat Arun. For a side trip, visit Chiang Mai for its beautiful temples and markets. To maximize your fun, try some of the local cuisine and take a tuk-tuk ride. Lastly, be sure to take advantage of the nightlife in Bangkok by visiting the sky bars and nightclubs.
