Ladakh Adventure Itinerary - December 2024

  1. Day 1: Leh
    15 minutes (3.6 km) from Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport

  2. Day 2: Nubra Valley

    Begin your journey to Nubra Valley, one of the highest deserts in the world. Visit the Diskit Monastery, explore the sand dunes on a double-humped Bactrian camel, and enjoy a hot spring bath in Panamik. Don't forget to stargaze at night.

  3. Day 3: Tso Moriri
    7 hours (220 km) from Nubra Valley

  5. Day 5: Chadar Trek

    Begin the challenging and thrilling Chadar Trek, a winter trek on the frozen Zanskar River. Trek for 5-6 hours and camp overnight in a cave or a tent. This trek requires physical fitness and experience, so consult a professional trekking agency for assistance.

  6. Day 6: Chadar Trek
    Continuation of Day 5

    Continue the Chadar Trek, starting early in the morning to avoid the afternoon sun that may cause melting of the ice. Marvel at the stunning frozen waterfall and the mesmerizing ice formations. Camp overnight in a cave or a tent.

  7. Day 7: Leh
    9 hours (230 km) from Chadar Trek endpoint to Leh

    Complete the Chadar Trek and drive back to Leh. Spend the afternoon exploring the Hemis Monastery and the Stok Palace Museum. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Ladakhi meal with a local family.

Recommendations

Consider visiting the Lamayuru Monastery and the Alchi Monastery if they are open during your visit. You could also try paragliding at the Zanskar Range.
