In Punta Arenas, getting around on feet is the most suitable way for travellers. Bring comfortable shoes for walking around town is necessary as Punta Arenas offers many walkable destinations within a few blocks of each other. Travellers can also take a taxi or a bus, which is a cheaper mode of transportation but relatively slower. Expect to pay around $10-15 USD for a taxi ride within the city limits.
One day may not do justice to all of Punta Arenas' vibrant charm. For travellers with more time, a trip to the famous Torres del Paine National Park is a must-do. It would be best if you allotted a full day for this trip. On the other hand, if you have less time, consider skipping Palacio Mauricio Braun since Palacio Sara Braun is enough to get an idea of palaces of the city. Moreover, do not forget to dress in layers since the weather in Patagonia is unpredictable, and it's better to be ready for anything.
