4-Day Chandrashila Trek Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Haridwar to Chopta
    6 hours (114 miles) from Haridwar

    In the morning, we will depart from Haridwar and drive to Chopta. On the way, we will stop for breakfast and enjoy scenic views of the Himalayas. Once we reach Chopta, we will check into our hotel and rest for a while. In the afternoon, we will take a short hike to explore the nearby areas and enjoy the beautiful views of the sunset. In the evening, we will return to our hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

  2. Day 2: Chopta to Tungnath
    2 hours (2.9 miles) from Chopta

    After breakfast, we will start our trek to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world. The trek is moderate and takes around 2-3 hours to complete. We will stop for lunch en route and enjoy the beautiful views of the Himalayas. Once we reach Tungnath, we will explore the temple and surrounding areas. In the evening, we will return to Chopta for dinner and overnight stay.

  3. Day 3: Chopta to Chandrashila
    3 hours (3.5 miles) from Chopta

    After breakfast, we will start our trek to Chandrashila, the summit of the Tungnath trek. The trek is steep and takes around 3-4 hours to complete. We will stop for lunch en route and enjoy the beautiful views of the Himalayas. Once we reach Chandrashila, we will explore the summit and surrounding areas. In the evening, we will return to Chopta for dinner and overnight stay.

  4. Day 4: Chopta to Haridwar
    6 hours (114 miles) from Chopta

    After breakfast, we will check out from our hotel and drive back to Haridwar. On the way, we will stop for lunch and enjoy the beautiful views of the Himalayas. Once we reach Haridwar, we will drop you off at your hotel or the railway station for your onward journey.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can also consider visiting the nearby Deoria Tal lake or the Kedarnath temple. You can also take a side trip to the beautiful hill station of Auli, known for its skiing and trekking opportunities. To maximize your fun, make sure to carry comfortable trekking shoes, warm clothes, and a good camera to capture the beautiful views of the Himalayas.
