5-Day Itinerary for Chandrashila Trek in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Haridwar to Chopta
    8 hours (210 km) from Haridwar

    In the morning, start the journey from Haridwar to Chopta. Enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful valleys of Uttarakhand. Arrive at Chopta in the evening and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring the local market and nearby surroundings.

  2. Day 2: Chopta to Tungnath
    1-2 hours (3.5 km) from Chopta

    Start the day early and hike up to the Tungnath temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world. The trek is moderate and takes around 2-3 hours. The breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the lush green forests make the hike worth it. After reaching Tungnath, visit the Chandrashila peak, which is a 1.5-hour trek from there. Return to Chopta in the evening and stay overnight.

  3. Day 3: Chopta to Deoria Tal
    1 hour (22 km) from Chopta

    After breakfast, drive to Sari village, the starting point of the Deoria Tal trek. The trek is relatively easy and takes around 2-3 hours. Reach Deoria Tal, a picturesque lake surrounded by dense forests and mountains. Spend some time here, enjoying the serene beauty of the place. Return to Sari village and drive back to Chopta.

  4. Day 4: Chopta to Auli
    3 hours (85 km) from Chopta

    After breakfast, drive to Auli, a beautiful ski resort in Uttarakhand. The drive is scenic, with stunning views of the Himalayas. On arrival, check into your hotel and spend the day exploring the local market and nearby surroundings. You can also take a cable car ride to the Auli artificial lake and enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains.

  5. Day 5: Auli to Rishikesh
    9 hours (260 km) from Auli

    Start the day early and drive back to Rishikesh, the spiritual capital of India. On arrival, visit the famous Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula suspension bridges, which are a major attraction in Rishikesh. You can also attend the evening Ganga Aarti, a spiritual ceremony that takes place on the banks of the river Ganges. After the ceremony, check into your hotel and spend the night.
