5-Day Itinerary for Chandrashila Trek in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Haridwar
    30 minutes (11.5 miles) from Jolly Grant Airport

  2. Day 2: Chopta
    6 hours (128 miles) from Haridwar

    In the morning, take a scenic drive to Chopta via Rudraprayag and Ukhimath. In the afternoon, visit the Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world. In the evening, enjoy the sunset from Chopta's picturesque meadows.

  3. Day 3: Deoria Tal
    1 hour and 20 minutes (21.7 miles) from Chopta

    In the morning, hike to Deoria Tal, a crystal-clear lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. In the afternoon, have a picnic lunch by the lake and relax. In the evening, enjoy a campfire and stargazing.

  4. Day 4: Chandrashila Peak
    1 hour and 45 minutes (3.7 miles) from Deoria Tal

    In the morning, start the trek to Chandrashila Peak, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas. In the afternoon, enjoy a packed lunch at the summit and take in the views. In the evening, return to the base camp at Chopta.

  5. Day 5: Rishikesh
    6 hours and 20 minutes (167 miles) from Chopta

    In the morning, drive to Rishikesh and visit the iconic Lakshman Jhula, a suspension bridge over River Ganges. In the afternoon, try river rafting or bungee jumping. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Parmarth Niketan Ashram.
