3-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit the Beaches of North Goa
    30 minutes (10 miles) from Dabolim Airport

    In the morning, head to Calangute Beach, known for its lively atmosphere and water sports. Enjoy some beach volleyball or parasailing, or just soak up the sun. For lunch, try some fresh seafood at Britto's or Souza Lobo. In the afternoon, take a short drive to Baga Beach, where you can rent a jet ski or banana boat. As the sun sets, head to Anjuna Beach for a peaceful evening stroll and admire the beautiful sunset.

  2. Day 2: Discover the Culture and History of Old Goa
    1 hour (20 miles) from Calangute Beach

    In the morning, visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest churches in Goa. Then, head to the nearby Se Cathedral, known for its impressive architecture. For lunch, stop at Viva Panjim, a charming restaurant serving traditional Goan cuisine. In the afternoon, wander through the Museum of Christian Art, showcasing a collection of intricate religious art. Lastly, take a short drive to Fort Aguada, a 17th-century Portuguese fort, and enjoy the beautiful sunset views over the Arabian Sea.

  3. Day 3: Enjoy Nature and Adventure in South Goa
    1 hour 30 minutes (35 miles) from Fort Aguada

    In the morning, visit the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India and surrounded by lush greenery. Take a refreshing swim or hike up to the top for amazing views. For lunch, stop at the nearby Spice Plantation and enjoy a traditional Goan meal. In the afternoon, head to Palolem Beach, one of the most picturesque beaches in Goa. Rent a kayak or paddleboard to explore the nearby coves, or relax in a beach shack. As the sun sets, take a sunset boat ride on the Sal River and admire the mangrove forests.

Recommendations

If you have additional time, consider visiting the churches of South Goa, such as Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and Church of St. Francis of Assisi. You could also take a day trip to the beautiful and secluded Butterfly Beach. For a unique experience, take a hot air balloon ride over the beautiful Goan countryside. Make sure to try some traditional Goan dishes, such as fish curry, xacuti or vindaloo. And don't forget to try the local feni, a spirit made from cashew fruit or coconut sap.
