Nature Lover's 2-Day Itinerary in Goa (June 2023)

  1. Day 1: Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary
30 minutes (10 miles) from Dabolim Airport

Start your morning early with a visit to the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, located on the western tip of the island of Chorão. Named after India's most famous ornithologist, this sanctuary is home to a variety of resident and migratory birds. Take a guided tour to spot some of the rare species like the Malabar Pied Hornbill and the Paradise Flycatcher. In the afternoon, take a leisurely stroll around the sanctuary's mangrove forests and capture some stunning photographs. In the evening, head back to your hotel or visit nearby eateries to relish some local Goan cuisine.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Waterfalls
2 hours (49 miles) from Panaji

Drive to the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, located on the Mandovi River in the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. The falls are among the tallest in India, with a height of around 1017 feet. Reach the falls by taking a trek through lush green forests, spice plantations, and streams. Alternatively, you can take a train ride from Kulem Station that offers breathtaking views of the waterfall. Spend some time swimming or enjoying a picnic by the waterfall's edge. Return to your hotel in the evening or stop at a local restaurant to sample Goan delicacies.
