Exploring Nashik in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Trimbakeshwar Temple
    28 minutes (13.8 km) from Nashik

    In the morning, visit Trimbakeshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is an architectural marvel with a unique linga adorned with precious stones. Take a dip in the holy waters of the Kushavarta Kund which is believed to have originated from the Ganges. For lunch, try the local delicacies like Misal Pav, Vada Pav, and Sabudana Vada at a nearby eatery. In the evening, visit Anjaneri Hill, the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, trek to the top and catch a stunning view of the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Sula Vineyards
    20 minutes (10.5 km) from Nashik

    Spend your morning at Sula Vineyards, India's leading wine producer. Take a tour of the vineyard, learn about the wine-making process, and sample some of their award-winning wines. For lunch, enjoy a farm-to-table meal at their in-house restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Pandavleni Caves, ancient rock-cut Buddhist caves dating back to the 1st century BC. The caves offer a glimpse into the life and times of the Buddhist monks who once inhabited them. In the evening, take a stroll along the Ramkund ghat, a popular spot for locals to take a dip in the holy river Godavari.

  3. Day 3: Nashik City
    15 minutes (5.7 km) from Nashik

    Begin your day with a visit to the Kalaram Temple, one of the most revered temples in Nashik dedicated to Lord Rama. The temple's black stone architecture and intricate carvings are a sight to behold. For lunch, head to Nashik's famous street food hub - College Road, and indulge in some lip-smacking chaat and pav bhaji. In the afternoon, visit the Coin Museum which showcases the rich history of Indian currency. In the evening, take a leisurely walk along the Gangapur dam built on the river Godavari and enjoy the scenic beauty.

Recommendations

If you have time, do visit the Someshwar Waterfall and the Vihigaon Waterfall, both located at a distance of 70 km from Nashik. A side trip to the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, located 75 km from Nashik, is also highly recommended. To maximize your fun, book a hot air balloon ride over the vineyards and the city. Don't forget to try the local wines and purchase some souvenirs from the Sula Vineyards.
