15 minutes (3 miles) from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus

Start your day at the iconic Gateway of India, Mumbai's most famous landmark. Built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India, it has become a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. In the morning, take a boat ride to the nearby Elephanta Caves to see the ancient rock-cut temples. Return to the Gateway of India for lunch and savor some of the local street food like vada pav and bhel puri. In the evening, take a stroll along the promenade and enjoy the sea breeze while watching the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Marine Drive

Start your day at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of Mumbai's most iconic landmarks. Marvel at its Victorian Gothic architecture and take a guided tour to learn more about its history. For lunch, head to the nearby Crawford Market to try some of the city's best street food. In the afternoon, take a leisurely walk along Marine Drive, also known as the Queen's Necklace. Recommendations:

Mumbai has so much to offer that it's hard to pack it all into just two days. You may want to consider visiting some of the city's museums and art galleries, such as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, the National Gallery of Modern Art, or the Jehangir Art Gallery. If you're interested in history, you can also visit the Mani Bhavan, the former residence of Mahatma Gandhi. For some fun and entertainment, head to the EsselWorld amusement park, or the Bollywood Studio Tour to see behind the scenes of India's famous film industry. If time permits, you can also take a day trip to the nearby hill station of Matheran, or explore the famous Ajanta and Ellora Caves. Whatever you decide to do, make sure to try some of the delicious local cuisine and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Mumbai.
