4-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary for Haridwar, Mussoorie, Rishikesh in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Haridwar
    1 hour 10 minutes (23.5 miles) from Jolly Grant Airport

    In the morning, we'll visit Har Ki Pauri, a famous ghat on the banks of the Ganges River where you can witness the Ganga Aarti. Then, we'll head to Maya Devi Temple, one of the Siddhapeeths and a major Shaktipeeth. We'll have lunch at Hoshiyar Puri, a local eatery famous for its Chole Bhature. In the afternoon, we'll visit Mansa Devi Temple, a popular Hindu temple devoted to Goddess Mansa Devi. Later, we'll take a ropeway ride to the hilltop to enjoy the scenic view of the city. In the evening, we'll head to the Rajaji National Park, a must-visit destination for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.

  2. Day 2: Mussoorie
    1 hour 20 minutes (34.3 miles) from Haridwar

    After breakfast, we'll head to the Kempty Falls, a beautiful waterfall situated at an altitude of 4500 ft. Next, we'll visit the Mussoorie Lake, where you can enjoy boating and other water sports. For lunch, we'll try some local dishes at Lovely Omelette Centre, a well-known eatery in Mussoorie. After that, we'll visit the Beatles Ashram, a famous ashram where the Beatles stayed in the 60s. For lunch, we'll try some authentic South Indian food at Little Buddha Cafe. In the afternoon, we'll go on a white water rafting adventure on the Ganges River. Later, we'll visit Neer Garh Waterfall, a stunning waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. In the evening, we'll attend the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ashram.

  4. Day 4: Haridwar
    1 hour 15 minutes (18.8 miles) from Rishikesh

    In the morning, we'll visit Chandi Devi Temple, a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Chandi. Then, we'll head to Daksh Prajapati Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. For lunch, we'll try some delicious street food at Mohanji Puri Wale. In the afternoon, we'll visit Shantikunj, a spiritual and cultural academy that teaches the Indian way of life. Later, we'll go on a shopping spree in the local markets of Haridwar. In the evening, we'll relax and enjoy a sound and light show at the Maya Devi Temple.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can consider visiting the Rajaji Tiger Reserve, a national park and tiger reserve situated in the foothills of the Himalayas. Also, you can explore the local markets for some souvenirs such as Rudraksha, Ayurvedic medicines, and brass idols. You can also take a day trip to Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand, to visit Robber's Cave, Sahastradhara, and Tapkeshwar Temple. To maximize your fun, you can go on a trek to the Nag Tibba Peak, which offers a panoramic view of the Himalayas. Lastly, don't forget to try some local sweets such as Bal Mithai and Jhangora ki Kheer.
