3-Day Itinerary for Gwalior in December 2023

  1. Day 1: Gwalior Fort
    15 minutes (3.8 km) from Gwalior Junction Railway Station

    In the morning, visit the Gwalior Fort, an 8th-century fortress which is an architectural marvel. Marvel at the intricate carvings and the grand palaces and temples inside the fort. In the afternoon, head to the Sun Temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to the Sun God, known for its stunning architecture. In the evening, visit the Tansen Tomb, a mausoleum built in honor of the famous musician Tansen.

  2. Day 2: Jai Vilas Palace
    20 minutes (5.5 km) from Gwalior Fort

    In the morning, visit the Jai Vilas Palace, a stunning palace built in the 19th century, which is now a museum. The palace has a collection of antiques, paintings, and artifacts. In the afternoon, visit the Gujari Mahal Museum, which has a collection of rare artifacts, sculptures, and coins. In the evening, visit the Scindia Chhatris, which are beautiful cenotaphs built in memory of the Scindia dynasty.

  3. Day 3: Sas-Bahu Temples
    25 minutes (7.2 km) from Jai Vilas Palace

    In the morning, visit the Sas-Bahu Temples, a group of two temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva, respectively. These temples are known for their intricate carvings and beautiful architecture. In the afternoon, visit the Tomb of Mohammad Ghaus, a 16th-century Sufi saint, which is an important pilgrimage site for Muslims. In the evening, head to the Gopachal Parvat, a beautiful mountain range known for its stunning views and trekking trails.
