A 3-Day Nature Tour of Ranthambore in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit the Ranthambore National Park
15 minutes (3.2 miles) from the city centre

Early in the morning, you will go on a safari in the Ranthambore National Park, which is home to the Royal Bengal Tiger, sloth bear, wild boar, and many other wild animals. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery and the thrill of being in the presence of some of the world's most magnificent creatures. The park is closed for a few hours during the middle of the day, so after your morning safari, you can take a break and have lunch at one of the park's many restaurants. In the evening, you can go on another safari to witness the park's stunning sunset.

  2. Day 2: Visit the Padam Talao and Ranthambore Fort
20 minutes (5.6 miles) from the Ranthambore National Park

Start your day by visiting Padam Talao, one of the park's largest and most picturesque lakes. You can spot many animals coming to the lake to quench their thirst, and you can also see many species of birds that call the lake their home. After visiting the lake, head to the Ranthambore Fort, which is located within the park and dates back to the 10th century. The fort offers a glimpse into the rich history of the region, and the view from the top is breathtaking. In the evening, return to your hotel to take some rest and relax.

  3. Day 3: Visit the Kachida Valley and Chambal River
1 hour 30 minutes (50 miles) from the Ranthambore National Park

For your final day, start by visiting the Kachida Valley, also known as the secret valley. The valley is known for its beautiful landscape and is home to many animals, including tigers, leopards, and sloth bears. After visiting the valley, head to the Chambal River, which is about an hour away. The river is a paradise for bird watchers, and you can spot many migratory birds during October. If you are lucky, you might even spot a gharial or a mugger crocodile. In the evening, return to Ranthambore and prepare for your journey back home.

Recommendations

If you have time, you can also visit the Surwal Lake, Jogi Mahal, and the Ranthambore School of Art. If you are interested in history, you can take a side trip to the nearby city of Sawai Madhopur, which has many historical sites and museums. To maximize your fun, we recommend booking a private jeep safari as it gives you more flexibility and a better chance of seeing the animals up close. Make sure to carry warm clothes as the early morning safaris can get chilly in October.
