Recommendations

If you're up for more adventure, consider a trek to Berijam Lake, a secluded lake surrounded by dense forests and grasslands. It requires permission from the forest department and is accessible only by jeep. You can also go for a cycling tour around the town, or for a more relaxed day, visit the Kodaikanal Lake, a man-made lake that offers boating, cycling, and horse riding activities. You can also plan a side trip to Palani, a temple town located 66 km from Kodaikanal, or to Mannavanur, a small village famous for its serene landscapes and potato farms.

Maximize your fun by booking adventure activities like ziplining, rock climbing or rappelling through local tour operators. Don't forget to try the local cuisine, especially the buttery Kodai cheese and almond biscuits. Also, pack light and comfortable clothes, as the weather can be unpredictable and chilly, even in the summer months.
