Exploring Otty in 3 Days

  1. Day 1: Doddabetta Peak
    20 minutes (6 km) from Ooty Lake

    For a breathtaking view of the Nilgiri mountain ranges, start with a visit to Doddabetta Peak in the morning. The drive up the winding roads is just as beautiful, and you can enjoy the cool breeze and the lush greenery. In the evening, you can take a stroll around Ooty Lake, which offers boat rides and horse riding.

  2. Day 2: Avalanche Lake
    1 hour 30 minutes (35 km) from Ooty Lake

    Spend the morning exploring the Botanical Gardens, which features a variety of plants, flowers, and trees. Afterward, take a scenic drive to Avalanche Lake, where you can enjoy a peaceful picnic and take a dip in the cool waters. On the way back, visit the Chocolate Factory and indulge in some sweet treats. In the evening, head to St. Stephen's Church, one of the oldest churches in the area, and take a walk around the serene Rose Garden.

  3. Day 3: Pykara Falls

    Begin the day with a visit to the Ooty Tribal Research Center, which showcases the unique culture and heritage of the indigenous tribes in the region. Next, head to the Pykara Falls, which offers a stunning view of cascading waterfalls surrounded by lush greenery. On the way back, stop by the Thread Garden, where you can see beautiful floral arrangements made entirely out of thread. In the evening, catch a movie at the historic Rex Cinema, which has been in operation since 1935.
