Mumbai on a Shoestring Budget - 5 Day Itinerary (June 2023)

  1. Day 1: Gateway of India
    30 minutes (7.4km) from Mumbai Airport

    Start your trip with a visit to the iconic Gateway of India. Built during the British rule in India, it is a major tourist attraction. Take a boat ride to Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which houses rock-cut temples. In the evening, head to Colaba Causeway, a popular street market filled with small shops selling everything from clothes to souvenirs.

  2. Day 2: Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Marine Drive
    40 minutes (15.2 km) from Gateway of India

    Start with a visit to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the busiest railway stations in India. Walk around the Fort area and explore the heritage buildings of Mumbai. In the afternoon, head to Marine Drive, also known as the Queen's Necklace. It is a perfect place to relax and watch the sunset. In the evening, visit Chowpatty Beach and try some street food.

  3. Day 3: Siddhivinayak Temple and Haji Ali Dargah

    Start your day with a visit to the famous Siddhivinayak Temple, a popular Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It is known for its beautiful architecture and peaceful atmosphere.
