Pondicherry Bachelor Party Itinerary - June 2023

  1. Day 1: Paradise Beach
20 minutes (6.2 km) from Pondicherry Bus Stand

Start your bachelor party with a visit to Paradise Beach, a secluded beach that can only be reached by boat. Spend the morning indulging in some beach games or just lounging on the sand. Grab lunch at one of the beachside shacks serving fresh seafood and chilled beers. In the afternoon, take a boat ride to the nearby Chunnambar backwaters and enjoy some kayaking or paddling. In the evening, head back to the beach for a bonfire and some live music.

  2. Day 2: Serenity Beach
20 minutes (4.5 km) from Paradise Beach

Start your day early and head to Serenity Beach to catch some waves. This is one of the best spots in Pondicherry for surfing. Afterward, enjoy a hearty breakfast at one of the nearby cafes. Spend the afternoon exploring Auroville, a nearby experimental township promoting sustainable living. Visit the Matrimandir, a golden globe-shaped meditation center, and attend a yoga session if you're up for it. In the evening, head back to the city for some bar-hopping and clubbing.

  3. Day 3: Ousteri Lake
25 minutes (9.3 km) from Serenity Beach

After a late start, head to Ousteri Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. Take a boat ride around the lake and spot some migratory birds. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the banks of the lake. In the afternoon, visit the Pondicherry Museum to learn about the town's French colonial past. Take a stroll in the French Quarter and pick up some souvenirs at the local boutiques. In the evening, enjoy a seafood dinner at one of the local restaurants.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider taking a day trip to Mahabalipuram, a group of ancient temples and rock-cut caves located 100 km north of Pondicherry. You can also take a guided tour of the Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual center founded by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother in 1926. To maximize your fun, rent a bike and explore the town's streets on your own. Don't forget to try some local delicacies like fish curry, dosa, and filter coffee. Finally, stay safe and don't drink and drive.
