Recommendations

Aside from the above itinerary, you can also visit Shanti Stupa, Hemis Monastery, and Nubra Valley. For side trips, you can take a hot-air balloon ride over the Ladakh landscape or go on a snow leopard safari. To maximize your fun, try local Ladakhi cuisine such as skyu and thukpa, and interact with locals to understand their culture better. Another suggestion is to attend the Ladakh Winter Confluence, a cultural festival that takes place in January.
