5-Day Delhi and Rishikesh Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Delhi's Main Attractions
    Indira Gandhi International Airport - Red Fort (17.5 km/45 mins)

    In the morning, explore the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, visit the Jama Masjid, one of India's largest mosques. In the afternoon, head to India Gate, a war memorial, and Humayun's Tomb, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the evening, visit the Lotus Temple, a Bahai House of Worship with a stunning lotus-shaped structure.

  2. Day 2: Experience the Spirituality of Rishikesh
    Delhi - Rishikesh (240 km/6 hours)

    Leave Delhi early and head to Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga. In the morning, visit the Triveni Ghat to witness aarti, a Hindu religious ritual. Then, head to Parmarth Niketan, a spiritual ashram, for yoga and meditation. In the afternoon, explore the city's famous suspension bridges, Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula, and visit the Beatles Ashram, where the band famously meditated in the 1960s.

  3. Day 3: Explore the Nature of Rishikesh
    Rishikesh

    Take an early morning hike to the Neer Garh Waterfall for a refreshing dip. In the afternoon, head to Rajaji National Park, known for its elephants and tigers. Take a jeep safari to explore the park or go on a nature walk. In the evening, return to Rishikesh for a relaxing session of Ayurvedic massage.

  4. Day 4: Learn the Art of Yoga and Meditation
    Rishikesh

    In the morning, visit the International Yoga Festival at Parmarth Niketan, the world's largest yoga gathering. Attend workshops and classes led by renowned teachers from around the world. In the afternoon, head to Vashishta Gufa, a cave where the great sage Vashishta meditated, for a quiet meditation session. In the evening, take a relaxing dip in the Ganges River and witness the evening aarti ceremony.

  5. Day 5: Adventure Sports in Rishikesh
    Rishikesh - Delhi (240 km/6 hours)

    Take an early morning white water rafting adventure on the Ganges River. Choose from various grades of rapids and enjoy the picturesque views. After lunch, experience the thrill of bungee jumping or zip-lining at Jumpin Heights. In the evening, head back to Delhi for your flight home.

If you have more time in Delhi, visit the Qutub Minar, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Akshardham Temple, a Hindu temple with stunning architecture. You can also take a day trip to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal. In Rishikesh, you can also go on a trek to the Kunjapuri Temple for stunning Himalayan views or visit the Geeta Bhawan for spiritual discourses. If you want to extend your trip, visit the Jim Corbett National Park for a wildlife safari or explore the hill stations of Mussoorie and Nainital.
