Exploring Lonavala and Khandala in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Lonavala Lake
    15 minutes (3.2km) from Lonavala Railway Station

    Start your day at the picturesque Lonavala Lake. You can enjoy a pleasant morning stroll around the lake, which is surrounded by lush greenery. In the afternoon, you can take a boat ride and see the beautiful scenery from the water. During the evening, immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere with some street food like vada pav, bhajiyas, and tea.

  2. Day 2: Kune Falls
    30 minutes (10km) from Lonavala Lake

    Begin your second day with a visit to Kune Falls. This waterfall is one of the highest in Maharashtra and a must-see attraction in Lonavala. In the morning, hike to the waterfall and take in the scenic views. During the afternoon, you can enjoy a picnic lunch near the falls. Finish the day with a visit to Shri Chandrabhaga Temple, located nearby, and take in the beautiful sunset.

  3. Day 3: Rajmachi Point
    25 minutes (8.5km) from Kune Falls

    On your final day, visit Rajmachi Point, where you can get a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. During the morning, take a short trek to the point and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Have lunch at a restaurant nearby. In the afternoon, a visit to Tiger's Leap offers a stunning view of the valley. During the evening, you can enjoy some shopping and street food at Lonavala Bazaar.

If you have more time, consider a visit to Bhaja Caves, Karla Caves or the Bushi Dam. Another great way to enjoy your trip would be to take a short side trip to Matheran. Pack your sunscreen and comfortable shoes to truly maximize your experience.
