3-Day Adventure Itinerary in Coonoor-Ooty in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Doddabetta Peak
    20 minutes (5.6 miles) from Coonoor

    Start your day early and head to one of the highest peaks in South India, Doddabetta Peak. Enjoy a spectacular view of Ooty and the surrounding valleys. Go on a moderately challenging trek to explore the peaks. Afternoon, head to Ooty Rose Garden, a 20-minute drive from Doddabetta Peak, and stroll through the garden featuring over 20,000 varieties of roses. In the evening, visit the Ooty Lake, enjoy boating and the beautiful scenery.

  2. Day 2: Pykara Waterfalls and Mudumalai National Park
    1 hour 20 minutes (24.6 miles) from Doddabetta Peak

    Start the day with a 1-hour drive to Pykara Waterfalls. The waterfall cascades down from a height of 55 meters and is surrounded by lush greenery and a serene lake. Afternoon, visit Mudumalai National Park, which is a 40-minute drive from Pykara Waterfalls. Enjoy a wildlife safari and spot various animals like tigers, elephants, and leopards. In the evening, head back to Ooty and visit the Thread Garden, featuring artificial flowers made from thread.

  3. Day 3: Avalanche Lake and Tea Factory
    1 hour (17.3 miles) from Mudumalai National Park

    Start early in the morning and head to Avalanche Lake, a 1-hour drive from Ooty. Enjoy a scenic trek to the lake, surrounded by beautiful forests and mountains. Afternoon, visit the tea factory, a 30-minute drive from Avalanche Lake. Learn about the tea-making process and taste some of the best tea in the region. In the evening, head back to Ooty and visit St. Stephen's Church, a 20-minute drive from the tea factory.
