4-Day Family-Friendly Arunachal Pradesh Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Tawang
    From Guwahati to Tawang (8-9 hours drive)

    In the morning, visit the Tawang Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in India. Then, head to the Tawang War Memorial to learn about the 1962 Sino-Indian War.   2. Day 2: Bhalukpong
    From Tawang to Bhalukpong (7-8 hours drive)

    Start your day with a visit to the Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to the brave soldier Jaswant Singh Rawat. Then, head to the Nuranang Falls for a refreshing view of the waterfalls. Spend the afternoon at the Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary, home to various species of animals and birds. In the evening, relax at your hotel in Bhalukpong and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place.

  3. Day 3: Ziro
    From Bhalukpong to Ziro (5-6 hours drive)

    Visit the Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in the morning, a biodiversity hotspot in Arunachal Pradesh, and home to various endangered species of flora and fauna. Then, head to the Kile Pakho, a beautiful plateau with a breathtaking view of the hills. Spend the afternoon exploring the Ziro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the Apatani tribe. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Apatani meal.

  4. Day 4: Itanagar
    From Ziro to Itanagar (4-5 hours drive)

    In the morning, visit the Ita Fort, a historical fort built in the 14th century. Then, explore the State Museum, which showcases the rich cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. Spend the afternoon at the Ganga Lake, a popular picnic spot among locals. In the evening, visit the local market for some last-minute shopping before your departure.

Other local attractions to consider include the Sela Pass, the Bumla Pass, and the Gorichen Peak. You can also take a side trip to Dirang, a beautiful valley town with hot springs and a monastery.
