Assam Adventure Weekend Itinerary - July 2023

  1. Day 1: Manas National Park
    2 hours 30 minutes (76.3 km) from Guwahati

    Manas National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a biosphere reserve that is home to a variety of wildlife, including tigers, elephants, rhinos, and more than 450 species of birds. Start your morning with an exciting jeep safari through the park, where you'll have a chance to spot some of these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. After an adventurous morning, head back to your hotel for lunch before continuing your adventure at the park, with a scenic hike to the beautiful Bhutan hills. End your day with a peaceful sunset picnic at Manas riverside.

  2. Day 2: Kaziranga National Park
    3 hours 30 minutes (135 km) from Manas National Park

    Wake up early to start your day with thrilling elephant safari at the Kaziranga National Park. Kaziranga is home to two-thirds of the world's one-horned rhinoceroses, and you'll have a high chance of spotting them from the back of an elephant. After your safari, have breakfast and continue your adventure with a trek to the stunning waterfalls of the park. End your adventure with a Jeep safari in the afternoon before heading back to Guwahati.

If you're interested in experiencing more wildlife, visit Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to the highest density of one-horned rhinoceroses in the world. You can also take a day trip to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, which is known as the "Scotland of the East" because of its stunning landscapes and waterfalls. For adventure seekers, you can also try river rafting in the Brahmaputra river or hiking in the beautiful Nameri National park.
