Three-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary for Kenya Kumari in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Nairobi National Park
    30 minutes (10 miles) from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

    Start your family vacation with a visit to the Nairobi National Park, located just outside the city centre. Start your morning with the park's game drive where you can spot lions, elephants, buffalos and giraffes. The park is perfect for a family picnic, so pack your lunch and enjoy it at the picnic sites.   2. Day 2: Giraffe Centre and David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
    20 minutes (7.5 miles) from Nairobi National Park

    Start your second day at the Giraffe Centre where you and your family can get up close with the endangered Rothschild's giraffes and even feed them. After that, head to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and watch baby elephants being fed and learn about their conservation efforts. In the afternoon, visit the Bomas of Kenya to learn about the different Kenyan tribes' cultures through traditional dances and crafts. End your day with a dinner at Carnivore Restaurant and try out various game meat, including crocodile, ostrich, and zebra meat.

  3. Day 3: Mombasa Beach
    1 hour 50 minutes (300 km) from Nairobi

    Start your final day by heading to Mombasa, a coastal city with beautiful beaches. Enjoy the scenic drive from Nairobi to Mombasa, and once you arrive, spend the day relaxing on the beach, swimming, and enjoying water sports. If you're interested in history, visit the Fort Jesus Museum to learn about Mombasa's colonial past. End your day with a sunset dhow cruise on the Indian Ocean, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sunset and a delicious seafood dinner.
