Two-Day Itinerary for GoaKarna in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit the Mahabaleshwara Temple
    15 minutes (5.5 km) from the bus stand

    In the morning, visit the Mahabaleshwara Temple, one of the most revered temples in the town and an excellent example of the architectural beauty of the ancient times. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has a unique linga that is believed to have been brought here by the Ravana. You can participate in the pooja and witness the splendid architecture of the temple.

    In the afternoon, head to Kudle Beach, a picturesque location. Enjoy a panoramic view of the shore, the surrounding hills and the sea from a cliff. Don't forget to take a dip in the warm waters or indulge in some water sports activities.

    In the evening, visit the Namaste Cafe, well known for its food and ambience. Enjoy the sunset while sipping on some wine or beer, and relish some seafood.

  2. Day 2: Explore the Mirjan Fort and Vibhuti Falls
    30 minutes (12 km) from Mahabaleshwara Temple

    In the morning, visit the Mirjan Fort, a historical fort located near the Kali River, surrounded by lush green forests. It was built in the 16th century and was an important center for trade and commerce. As you explore the fort, you'll see how it was built with laterite stone, which gives it a unique texture and appearance.

    In the afternoon, head to Vibhuti Falls, a beautiful waterfall located in the Western Ghats. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the waterfall, the greenery around it and the cool breeze. You can swim in the shallow waters or enjoy a picnic with your friends and family.

    In the evening, visit the Ganesh Gudi Bhatt's Family Palace. It is a beautiful palace, known for its intricate carvings and paintings. The palace is open to the public, and you can tour it and learn about the rich history of the family and the town.

If you have time, visit the Gokarna Beach, one of the most popular beaches in town. You can also try to catch the sunset at Om Beach or Paradise Beach.
