3-Day Muscat Salalah Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Muscat
    20 minutes (12.4 km) from Muscat International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Explore the intricate architecture, beautiful gardens, and learn about Omani culture and Islamic religion. Then, head to the Mutrah Souq, a traditional marketplace with a variety of shops selling Omani handicrafts, textiles, and spices. In the afternoon, visit the Royal Opera House, Oman's premier venue for concerts and cultural events. Finally, end your day with a sunset cruise on a traditional Omani dhow, enjoying the scenic views of Muscat's coastline.

  2. Day 2: Salalah
    15 minutes (8.5 km) from Salalah International Airport

    Start your day with a visit to the Al Baleed Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that showcases the history and culture of Oman's Dhofar region. Explore the ancient ruins of Al Baleed city and the adjacent Museum of the Frankincense Land. In the afternoon, head to the beautiful beaches of Salalah, such as Mughsail Beach or Al Fazayeh Beach, and relax under the sun. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Omani dinner at one of the local restaurants that offer authentic Omani cuisine.

  3. Day 3: Salalah

Go on a hiking trail or drive up to the top of the mountain to get panoramic views of Salalah. In the afternoon, visit the Taqah Castle, an imposing fortress that was built in the 19th century to protect the city from invaders. Finally, end your day with a visit to the Ain Razat Park, a lush green park with waterfalls, streams, and walking trails, perfect for a relaxing evening.
