  1. 8:00AM: Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga
    Located in the heart of Ujjain
    Visit one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India at Mahakaleshwar Temple. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered to be one of the most sacred Shiva shrines in India.
  2. 10:00AM: Kal Bhairav Temple
    12 minutes (2.4 km) from Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga
    Explore the Kal Bhairav Temple, a popular Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Bhairav, a fierce form of Lord Shiva. This temple is believed to be one of the 84 Mahadev temples in Ujjain.
  3. 11:30AM: Sandipani Ashram
    20 minutes (5.7 km) from Kal Bhairav Temple
    Visit the Sandipani Ashram, located on the banks of the Shipra River. It is believed that this ashram was the ancient school of Sandipani where Lord Krishna, along with Sudama and Balarama, received their education.
  4. 1:00PM: Vedh Shala (Observatory)
    15 minutes (3.3 km) from Sandipani Ashram
    Visit the Vedh Shala, an ancient observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur in the 18th century. It was used to observe and study astronomical positions and movements of celestial bodies.
  5. 3:00PM: Bhartrihari Caves
    25 minutes (6.5 km) from Vedh Shala
    Explore the Bhartrihari Caves, a group of 18 caves that are named after the famous poet Bhartrihari, who is said to have meditated here. These caves are believed to be more than 2000 years old and are located on the banks of the Shipra River.
  6. 5:00PM: Kaliadeh Palace
    30 minutes (9.2 km) from Bhartrihari Caves
    Visit the Kaliadeh Palace, located on the banks of the Shipra River. This ancient palace was built during the reign of the Paramara dynasty and is associated with the legendary King Vikramaditya. It is believed that this palace was used by the king for his royal bathing ceremony.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can also visit the Chintaman Ganesh Temple, Gadkalika Temple, and Harsiddhi Temple. You can also take a side trip to Omkareshwar, a popular pilgrimage site located about 80 km from Ujjain.
