4-Day Adventure Itinerary for Leh (IXL), India in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Trek to Spituk Monastery
    5.5 miles from Leh (30-minute drive)

    Morning: Start your day early and head out for a trek to Stok Kangri Base Camp, one of the most popular trekking destinations in Ladakh. The trek is challenging but offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the Zanskar Range.
    Afternoon: Stop for a picnic lunch on the way and soak in the beautiful scenery. After lunch, visit the nearby Shey Monastery, a former royal palace and one of the most important monasteries in Ladakh.
    Evening: Return to Leh and spend your final evening exploring the local nightlife or relaxing at your hotel.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider taking a side trip to Nubra Valley or Pangong Tso Lake, two of the most beautiful destinations in Ladakh. You can also try some other adventure activities like mountain biking, paragliding, or camel safaris. To maximize your fun, make sure to acclimatize to the high altitude before starting any trek or adventure activity. Finally, don't forget to try some of the traditional Ladakhi cuisine, which includes dishes like momos, thukpa, and butter tea.
