Kedarnath Tungnath Badrinath 5-Day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath
    3 hours 30 minutes (76.1 km) from Rudraprayag

    In the morning, visit the Kedarnath temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,583 meters and offers a panoramic view of the Himalayas.   2. Day 2: Tungnath
    3 hours 28 minutes (80.1 km) from Kedarnath

    In the morning, embark on a trek to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world. The trek is 4 km long, and the view of the Himalayas is breathtaking. In the afternoon, visit the Chopta valley, a beautiful meadow surrounded by mountains. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire while stargazing.

The falls are a sight to behold, and the trek to get there is adventurous. In the evening, enjoy local cuisine and indulge in some shopping at the Badrinath market.

  5. Day 5: Rudraprayag

    In the morning, leave for Rudraprayag, a beautiful town situated at the confluence of the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers. In the afternoon, visit the Koteshwar Mahadev temple, located on the banks of the Alaknanda river. In the evening, take a walk along the river and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider visiting the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, a holy site for Sikhs located near the Valley of Flowers. The trek is 6 km long, and the view is mesmerizing. You can also go on a side trip to Auli, a scenic hill station known for its skiing slopes. To maximize your fun, try local delicacies such as Kachmauli and Bal Mithai, and buy souvenirs such as Rudraksha beads and woolen garments.
