A 2-Day Honeymoon Itinerary in Ahmedabad

  1. Day 1: Sabarmati Ashram
    15 minutes (4.2 km) from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport

    Start your honeymoon by visiting Sabarmati Ashram, the residence of Mahatma Gandhi from 1917 to 1930. Spend your morning understanding the peaceful life of Mahatma Gandhi and his non-violent movement. The ashram has a library and a museum containing pictorial representations of the life and principles of Gandhiji. In the afternoon, take a romantic walk on the Sabarmati riverfront. In the evening, watch the Sabarmati Aarti, a spiritual ritual conducted every day at the ashram.

  2. Day 2: Kankaria Lake
    30 minutes (9.6 km) from Sabarmati Ashram

    On your second day, visit Kankaria Lake, a 550-year-old artificial lake built by Sultan Qutbuddin in 1451 AD. Start your day by taking a romantic walk on the lakefront and enjoy the beautiful view. You can also take a balloon ride, go for boating, and explore the zoo. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, known for its beautiful jhali screen. End your day by having a romantic dinner at one of the rooftop restaurants near Kankaria Lake.

If you have more time in Ahmedabad, you can visit the Adalaj Stepwell, a five-story stepwell built in 1498 AD.
