A 4-Day Itinerary for Exploring Goa in April 2024

  1. Day 1: Aguada Fort and Beach
    30 minutes (12.1 km) from Dabolim Airport

    Start your trip by visiting the 17th-century Aguada Fort, which was built by the Portuguese to defend their territory. Take a stroll along the fort walls to enjoy the stunning view of the Arabian Sea. Then, head down to the Aguada Beach to relax and take a dip in the warm waters of the sea. In the evening, enjoy the sunset at the beach while sipping some coconut water or tea.

  2. Day 2: Basilica of Bom Jesus and Dona Paula Beach
    30 minutes (14.5 km) from Aguada Fort

    Start your day by visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Basilica of Bom Jesus. This 16th-century church houses the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier and is a fine example of Baroque architecture. After that, head to Dona Paula Beach, located on the outskirts of Panaji. Known for its picturesque views and water sports, this beach is perfect for a relaxing afternoon spent sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying seafood.

  3. Day 3: Dudhsagar Waterfall and Spice Plantation Tour
    1 hour 30 minutes (64.8 km) from Dona Paula Beach

    Take a day trip to the magnificent Dudhsagar Waterfall, located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park. This four-tiered waterfall is one of the tallest in India, with a height of 310 meters. After that, head to a spice plantation to learn about the different spices grown in Goa and their uses. Take a tour of the plantation, enjoy a traditional Goan meal, and savor some freshly made spice tea.

  4. Day 4: Anjuna Flea Market and Fort Chapora
    30 minutes (12.5 km) from Dudhsagar Waterfall

    End your trip by visiting the popular Anjuna Flea Market, located near the Anjuna Beach. This market is held every Wednesday and is known for its range of handmade crafts, clothes, spices, and jewelry. After that, head to the Fort Chapora, which is known for its stunning view of the coastline. This 16th-century fort is an excellent spot to watch the sunset and take some beautiful pictures.

Apart from the mentioned places, you can also visit the Mangueshi Temple, the Mahalaxmi Temple, and the Museum of Goa. You can also plan a side trip to the beautiful beach town of Palolem in South Goa. To maximize your fun, try some of the water sports available at different beaches, such as parasailing, jet skiing, and banana boat rides. Don't forget to try some of the Goan delicacies, such as fish curry, vindaloo, and bebinca.
