Family-Friendly 3-Day Itinerary for Ujjain in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Mahakaleshwar Temple
    10 minutes (2.8 km) from Ujjain Junction Railway Station

    Start your day by visiting the Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. The temple is known for its unique architecture and is believed to be the only temple where the idol of Lord Shiva faces south. Afternoon, enjoy a meal at the nearby food stalls which serve delicious local delicacies. Later, you can visit the Chintaman Ganesh Temple, located 20 minutes away by car, which is one of the oldest and most revered temples in Ujjain.   2. Day 2: Kalideh Palace and Observatory

    On day 2, visit the Kalideh Palace, which was the summer palace of the Scindias, located on the banks of the Kshipra River. Next, you can head to the Vedh Shala Observatory, which is one of the oldest observatories in India and houses ancient instruments used for astronomical observations.
