4-Day Adventure Itinerary for Kerala in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Munnar
    From Cochin International Airport, it will take approximately 4 hours by car (80 miles) to reach Munnar.

    In the morning, visit the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate and enjoy the panoramic views and the delicious tea. In the afternoon, hike to the Meesapulimala peak, the second-highest peak in the Western Ghats. In the evening, go on a wildlife safari in the Eravikulam National Park where you may spot the endangered Nilgiri Tahr.

  2. Day 2: Thekkady
    From Munnar, it will take approximately 3 hours by car (60 miles) to reach Thekkady.

    In the morning, go on a bamboo rafting adventure in the Periyar Lake, and watch out for elephants and other wildlife. In the afternoon, go on a jungle trek in the Periyar National Park. In the evening, witness the traditional martial art of Kalaripayattu at the Kadathanadan Kalari Centre.

  3. Day 3: Alleppey
    From Thekkady, it will take approximately 4 hours by car (85 miles) to reach Alleppey.

    In the morning, take a houseboat cruise in the backwaters of Alleppey and enjoy the serene surroundings. In the afternoon, visit the Marari Beach and indulge in water sports such as surfing and parasailing. In the evening, watch the sunset at the Alleppey Lighthouse.

  4. Day 4: Wayanad
    From Alleppey, it will take approximately 6 hours by car (180 miles) to reach Wayanad.

    In the morning, go on a guided trek to the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad, and enjoy the breathtaking views from the top. In the afternoon, visit the Edakkal Caves and explore the ancient rock art. In the evening, visit the Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earth dam in India, and enjoy the scenic beauty.

Other local attractions and experiences you may consider are the Athirappilly Waterfalls, the Vagamon Hill Station and the Bekal Fort. You may also plan a side trip to the Lakshadweep Islands for scuba diving and snorkeling.
