5-Day Itinerary: Delhi to Kedarnath in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Delhi to Haridwar
    5 hours (149 km) from Delhi

    In the morning, visit Raj Ghat, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. Then, head to Akshardham, a Hindu temple complex. Afternoon, drive to Haridwar, one of the seven holiest places in Hinduism. Visit Har Ki Pauri Ghat, a famous bathing ghat on the banks of the Ganges river. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Har Ki Pauri Ghat.

  2. Day 2: Haridwar to Guptkashi
    7 hours (225 km) from Haridwar

    In the morning, drive to Devprayag, the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers, which form the Ganges river. Then, head to Rudraprayag, the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. In the afternoon, drive to Guptkashi, a town located at an elevation of 1,319 meters above sea level. Visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple.

  3. Day 3: Guptkashi to Kedarnath
    1 hour (33 km) from Guptkashi

    In the morning, drive to Gaurikund, the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. The trek is about 16 km and takes around 6-7 hours. Reach Kedarnath by afternoon. Visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Himalayas in the evening.

  4. Day 4: Kedarnath to Rudraprayag
    4 hours (74 km) from Kedarnath

    In the morning, trek down to Gaurikund. Drive to Ukhimath, the winter seat of Kedarnath. Then, drive to Rudraprayag. Visit the Koteshwar Mahadev Temple and the Sangam, the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers.

  5. Day 5: Rudraprayag to Delhi
    10 hours (340 km) from Rudraprayag

    In the morning, drive to Rishikesh, a holy city and a center for yoga and meditation. Visit the Triveni Ghat and the Beatles Ashram. In the afternoon, drive to Delhi. Stop at Murthal, a popular food destination known for its parathas. Reach Delhi by evening.
