Discovering Mumbai in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Gateway of India
    30 minutes (11.5 km) from Mumbai International Airport

    In the morning, start your day at the iconic Gateway of India, a stunning monument built during the British Raj era. Take a boat ride to the nearby Elephanta Caves and explore the ancient temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the afternoon, head to the Colaba Causeway for some shopping and local street food. In the evening, visit the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, a heritage five-star hotel for dinner and drinks.

  2. Day 2: Bandra Worli Sea Link
    40 minutes (13.9 km) from Gateway of India

    Start your day by visiting the iconic Siddhivinayak Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Later, head to the Bandra Worli Sea Link for a scenic drive over the Arabian Sea. In the afternoon, visit the Mahalaxmi Racecourse for a horse race and betting. In the evening, enjoy some live music with drinks at the Hard Rock Cafe Mumbai.

  3. Day 3: Sanjay Gandhi National Park
    1 hour 20 minutes (39.4 km) from Bandra Worli Sea Link

    In the morning, take a nature walk in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park and explore the Kanheri Caves, ancient Buddhist rock-cut temples. In the afternoon, head to the Film City, a popular Bollywood shooting location and take a tour. In the evening, visit the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and marvel at the Victorian Gothic architecture.

  4. Day 4: Juhu Beach
    1 hour 20 minutes (21.4 km) from Sanjay Gandhi National Park

    In the morning, enjoy a leisurely stroll or yoga session at Juhu Beach, a popular beachfront. In the afternoon, visit the nearby ISKCON Temple, a Hindu temple known for its intricate architecture. In the evening, head to Marine Drive, a promenade with a breathtaking view of the sea, for a sunset and some street food.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Haji Ali Dargah, a mosque located in the middle of the sea, or the Global Vipassana Pagoda, a meditation center and pagoda.
