Getting around Avalon is easy and fun. Walking is the best option for exploring the city center, but you can also rent bikes, golf carts, or take a bus. The Catalina Express is the main transportation option to get to the island from the mainland. The round trip ferry ride costs around $70 per person and takes about 90 minutes each way.
If you have more time, you can add more activities like the Wrigley Memorial and Botanic Garden, zip-lining, or snorkeling at Lover’s Cove Marine Reserve. If you have less time, skip the Avalon Scenic Drive and spend more time at the Museum or the Casino Building. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and a camera to capture the beautiful views.
