2-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Alibagh in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Alibagh Beach
5 minutes (0.5 miles) from Alibagh bus stand

Start your day at Alibagh Beach, one of the most popular family-friendly destinations in Alibagh. Enjoy the cool breeze and panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. In the morning, relax on the beach and take a dip in the sea. Afternoon is a great time for water sports activities like jet skiing, banana boat rides, and parasailing. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach and catch the sunset. There are plenty of shacks and restaurants around the beach where you can have some delicious seafood.

  2. Day 2: Kolaba Fort
10 minutes (2.4 miles) from Alibagh Beach

In the morning, head to Kolaba Fort, a 300-year-old fort in the middle of the Arabian Sea. The fort can be reached on foot during low tide. Spend some time exploring the fort and learning about its history. In the afternoon, take a ferry ride to the fort and enjoy the scenic views of the sea. Afterward, head to the nearby Kanhoji Angre Samadhi, a memorial dedicated to Kanhoji Angre, a Maratha Admiral. In the evening, relax on the nearby Akshi Beach and enjoy the sunset.

Recommendations

If you have more time, visit the Varsoli Beach, a beautiful and less crowded beach with clear waters. The Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is also worth a visit, especially if you're traveling with kids. The sanctuary has a diverse range of flora and fauna, including leopards, bison, and several bird species.

For a side trip, consider visiting the nearby town of Murud. The Murud Beach, Murud Janjira Fort, and Garambi Falls are some of the major attractions in Murud. You can also take a boat ride to the Janjira Fort, a 400-year-old sea fort located just off the coast of Murud.

To maximize your fun, plan your trip during the Alibagh Beach Festival, typically held in December. The festival features cultural events, food stalls, and several water sports activities. Make sure to try the local delicacy, the Alibagh Kulfi, a delicious ice cream made with fresh milk and dry fruits.

Don't forget to check out some of the local markets for souvenirs and handicrafts. The Alibagh Market and the Chikni Market are popular shopping destinations.
