Shoestring Budget Itinerary for 2 Days in Goa in June 2023

Head to Baga Beach for lunch, where you'll find a variety of shacks offering affordable seafood. In the afternoon, visit Calangute Beach, which is known for its stunning views and water sports. Enjoy a relaxing swim or a game of beach volleyball. In the evening, head to Candolim Beach to witness a beautiful sunset and indulge in some street food.

  2. Day 2: History and Culture
    1 hour (42.6 km) from Candolim Beach

    Start your day by visiting the historic Aguada Fort, which was built in the early 17th century. Explore the lighthouse and the well-preserved Portuguese architecture. Afterward, head to the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest churches in India, to witness the beautiful Baroque architecture and the preserved body of St. Francis Xavier. In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Christian Art, located inside the Convent of Santa Monica, to learn about the history of Christianity in Goa. In the evening, head to the vibrant Latin Quarter of Fontainhas to witness the colourful colonial architecture and enjoy a traditional Goan dinner.

Recommendations

If you have more time, do visit the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, located on the border of Goa and Karnataka. The falls are at their peak during monsoon season and are a sight to behold. You can also try renting a scooter and exploring the scenic countryside. Another option is taking a day trip to the nearby town of Old Goa, which is home to numerous churches and museums. To maximize your fun, try bargaining with shopkeepers at flea markets for better prices, and don't forget to try the local feni drink. Lastly, be sure to check out the nightlife scene in Goa, which is vibrant and lively.
